The Plan

Hello!  Beginning today, and until further notice, I will be blogging about everything pertaining to Sound Mind in a Healthy Body, with emphasis on my journey to achieve my best body.
Being of Greek heritage, food and hospitality have always had a stronghold on my life.  The constant tug of war with fitness, nutrition and physical balance remains an area I strive to learn more about and improve.  From the age of 12, my weight fluctuated 20 pounds, with that number increasing after giving birth to my third child in 2000 and my fourth child in 2003.  The past 25 years I have lost and gained weight on Jenny Craig, Seattle Sutton, Weight Watchers, Nutri System, The egg diet, The Atkins diet, The Grapefruit diet, The 1200 calorie a day diet and The no sugar diet.  Honestly, there are helpful aspects I learned from each program, but at the end of the day a healthy body weight is achieved when your food intake is in alignment to your movement and outtake. More on that later, for today I rewind to 2006 when I was ready to permanently invest in my health and wellness.  In August of 2006, I hired a personal trainer, and since then have trained and learned from 6 professional trainers each coming from a different background ranging from professional baseball player, elite runner, gymnasts and top finisher Iron Man competitors.  I like to work with professionals who have accomplished more than I have.  I respect the athletes who have “been there done that.”
Since 2006 I have kept off 30 pounds, and now I’m ready for the next phase, which is to trim from my current size 10 to a size 8, my proposed best -most Kefi-nated body!!!
THE PLAN : cut the junk, train for a duathlon ( To date I’ve done 6 sprint Triathlon and one half marathon and several 5 k’s) stay positive, and with a clear and sound mind apply all the proven nutrition and fitness disciplines I have gathered over the years.  Join my journey by checking back here often.
