Recently got together with loved ones to celebrate at Siena Tavern in Chicago- it gets a big thumbs UP!

Ready for some authentic and delicious Mediterranean inspired Italian food prepared in the name of making people happy?!  Enjoy it at Siena Tavern, owned by Chef Fabio Viviani from Florence, Italy and his partner Luke David. You may recognize the name Fabio Viviani as he was on TOP CHEF and won fan favorite. Fabio now brings his uniques style of cooking to the River North area.

Siena developed organically with the two entrepreneurs traveling to Italy to immerse and absorb the authentic culture, further inspiring their rustic/casual restaurant in America.  The outcome of visiting and eating at nearly a dozen restaurants abroad, resulted in a special place here in Shy town offering simple food and basic ingredients with a “twist of unique.”

At Siena, you’ll taste the difference in the century old recipes, which come from a “room full of grandmas” as Chef Fabio says.  Luke and Fabio agree, the food at Siena must be prepared in a way that the customer tastes an outstanding and mouthwatering flavor including the freshest ingredients.  Modern meets old world food.

Favorites on the menu include:

  • Chiante poached salad
  • Dry aged Porter House
  • Lasagna- Fabio’s mother’s recipe
  • The 12 oz meatball
  • Pizza oven- you can create your own

My selection:

Broiled Salmon with citrus braised lentils, caramelized carrots, sautéed spinach, tamarind glaze.

This plate is to die for….pair it with Megahertz red Wine…and you’ll be dreaming of your next visit.

If you like Italian food, prepare to fall in love with Siena.
