If you are working out every day or regularly, it would behoove you to warm up or loosen up before you routine.
WHAT IS A WARM-UP?
Most warm-up sessions will include a combination of cardiovascular exercises, stretching and strength drills. The cardiovascular exercises are designed to increase circulation, increase body temperature and bring the heart rate up, while stretching warms the muscles and prepare them for the movements they will be required to carry out during the activity. EFFECTIVE WAYS TO WARM-UP/ROLL OUT
Foam Roller (what I love about the one pictured here is that it has warm-up illustrations on it)
Jog in place
Hop on the tread mill and light jog for 10 min
The more conditioned the athlete, the more of a warm-up he/she needs to get muscles loose for hard work. Injury occurs when muscles are tight or tense. Keep it all warmed up.
