My Neighbor Lost 50 Pounds- His Next Goal Resembles Mine
I see my neighbor all the time, but I guess more than a few weeks have passed and now with the weather breaking we are each spending more time outdoors. Less layers and more time reveal a slimmer and more vibrant Daniel. I couldn’t believe how great he looked when I saw him, and I mentioned that to him. His reply was one of gratitude and uncertainty, “Oh thanks Kiki, I hope I can keep off these 50 pounds.”
A CHANGED LIFESTYLE DICATATES SUCCESS
Daniel and I face the same future concern, maintaining weight loss for the health of us. However, while I have 6 pounds more to lose, these past 2 years I have learned a lot about how to eat and move, and this education has been engrained into my forever Kefi-Healthy lifestyle.
The rules look like this:
*Love your body – your body takes you everywhere- your body is a miraculous working machine that must never be abandoned- the better your body, the better your life!
*My health is my job/your health is your job
*Once your palate changes you proceed with that premise
*Keep in mind that if nothing changes nothing changes
*Know your nutrition and eat with the right mindset: one of health, freshness, fuel and good taste
*Have fun cooking and preparing healthy, low calorie and nutritious dense dishes
*Know your body and how it works
*Keep moving every single day
*Stay active with events/races/destination races
*Remember: what you don’t know can kill you- understand the detriment extra weight has on your joints
*Weigh yourself every 3 or 4 days to stay accountable
*Vacation, holidays and weekends are not reasons to deviate from a clean program, a lifestyle is permanent
*The longer you maintain your ideal weight the stronger your chance of keeping it all off
*Promise yourself, after reaching your desired weight, to be vigilant about being accountable the first year of maintenance
*The second year will be easier
*Rapid progress is never sustainable – take the time to absorb and apply new methods of good health
*Consider the Farm to Table eating method-I am
*Eat breakfast- Dr. Inbar suggests a protein in that breakfast
*Hydrate to flush out toxins, keep you full and eliminate the confusion of thirst with hunger
