Love my essential oils, love how they smell and love how they make me feel.
Today I feel the urge to smell freshness so I am diffusing Lemon oil, which is cleansing the air and lifting my mood. It smells great!
MYRRH or Commiphora myrrha
I’m also going for “peaceful” today so I’m topically applying and rubbing Myrrh essential oil on my hands as I work at the computer. I sniff my hands every 5 minutes and the aroma shoots straight down my nostrils to my heart. doTerra shares that historically, Myrrh has been used in many ways, from meditation to embalming in ancient Egypt. Modern herbalists frequently recommend Myrrh for its cleansing properties, especially for the mouth and throat. Myrrh is also excellent for calming the skin. Some of the healing uses for applying Myrrh topically include: Cancer, chapped and cracked skin, congestion, gum disease, Hashimoto disease, Hepatitis, Infection, skin ulcers, stretch marks and weeping wounds. For me personally, Myrrh is invigorating and causes me to avoid distractions. I feel possibilities because I’m engaging the senses.
THE FIVE SENSES
Making good use of your senses will help you feel better mentally and physically. The five senses are: taste, sight, touch, smell, and hearing. Our senses allow us to learn, to protect ourselves, to enjoy our world. Can you imagine what it might be like to live your life without any of your senses? The senses usually work together to give us a clear picture of the things around us. If one sense is not working due to an accident or illness, then other senses will take over or become stronger to make up for the missing sense.
I also adore the sense of sight because I’m a visual person. My two favorite ways to stimulate my visual are sunrise/sunsets and flowers. The sight of these two instantly alter my perspective and mood. Be sure to feast your eyes on all that is visually uplifting and pleasing to the eye!
The beautiful thing about my favorite visuals is that they each affect multiple senses. Now we are talking!
Start living beautifully, fully by waking up your senses to the things that bring you JOY! Do that; GO FROM GLOOMY TO JOYFUL!
