TAHOE training- ride 2 out of 4 scheduled for week 6, done this morning for my upcoming 72 mile race in June went better than expected, considering that yesterday and last night I felt ill and run down, which set my mind into “excuse” mode. I wasn’t sure that I would do my workout today, but decided I must at least give it a fair shot, and get on that bike to first hand experience my true energy level-I’m so happy I did that.
This am when Jill popped over for my session, I warmed up, and we started our talk because we love to exchange ideas on training and nutrition. As I was warming up, I realized that my additional hour of sleep last night helped me recover, and further more my warm-up was already kicking in those endorphins. I hopped on the bike and started riding; my Hydrate drink tasted just right, my form was pretty good and the ride was one of the easier ones I had to do this week. I was feeling pretty good. Then Jill asked me how everything was going. This question is posed every week for the purpose of determining my level of commitment with nutrition, workouts and training prep. I told her all cylinders are in motion at about 90 percent, and the only thing bugging me was my uneasy feeling of always having to make hard choices with living a clean and focus- driven lifestyle. It dawned on me that the reason my choices are hard is because general society lives one way, and I’m working on mastering another way- FIT, STRONG & SUCCESSFUL!
I ALWAYS WANTED TO BE THE WAY I’M LIVING NOW
Since I was a kid I truly wanted to be fit, strong and successful, even though for decades I engaged in the yo-yo effect in the wellness department. In the back of my brain, there was and is an energy button that was waiting to be pushed and secured once and for all. An energy button that released educated choices, critical thinking, self care, Kefi or positive energy, vibrant health and a love and life of wellness. Thank goodness I did not give up my intentions all these years, just forward movement through all the lessons in failures/setbacks/successes. Every time I fell, I found a way to bounce back UP and try again. The main lesson of course is that in order to obtain different results you have to do something different. I love what Einstein said….
It takes a genius to simply say something so profound. LOVE IT!!!!
THE DECISION IS MINE
Jill and I agreed that the life that I have been living since September 15, 2014, and the life I work at mastering every single day, is a life that society does not embrace. General society is content to live on false energy and quick fixes. Remember friends in Kefi : “A shortcut is the longest distance between two points.”
If I want to stay well, I have to make my own decisions on how to eat, exercise, sleep, have fun, commit, choose, speak, conduct myself and not feel guilty about it. Do YOU care to join me in the KEFI REVOLUTION? C’mon…Hop on the wellness train and let’s go for the ride of a lifetime, because life goes by at light speed. No turning back, no regrets just sustainable solutions to get ourselves and the community we reside in, healthy and happy. When someone asks you why you are doing something against the grain; like eating natural, prioritizing time with wellness at the forefront, preparing meals and giving thought on how to execute/live a positive life, skipping an outing so you can get enough rest or keep a health commitment, tell them “I WANT TO LIVE LIFE TO THE FULLEST, WITH ENERGY AND GREAT HEALTH!” You will discover, like I have, that when you allow yourself to live the life you deserve and choose, not the one the crowd tells you to live, so many professional and personal opportunities will present themselves on your doorstep.
One person at a time, we can inspire/support each other so that we morph into a HEALTHY COMMUNITY! Let’s take on the qualities of a butterfly and evolve into the beautiful persons we are to be. It’s absolutely more enriching, more fulfilling and more enjoyable than the alternative!
