The Strongest Woman I know!

Good day;  It is because I decided to have one, hope the same for you!

Today my mom goes home after 77 days of uncertainty, pain, struggle, vulnerability & fear all rolled up WITH a stronger mix of love, support, prayers, endurance, bonding, will, faith, belief, stamina, fortitudepersistencedoggednessgritindefatigabilityresolution and a determination to LIVE!  She is saying “NOPE,” to the C word and “YES” to regaining health.  My precious mother went from hospital ER to ICU to fourth floor to outpatient rehab to a way out that door all the way back to her home.  This journey is not complete, but the mindset to persevere is set in stone.

As I look back to November 29, I am in complete awe of how my mother endured what has to be her toughest health battle.  What’s so impressive is that she found a way to smile and fight through all the discomfort and unpredictability with patience, love and tenacity.

She proves that the will to endure is one of the most extraordinary gifts many of us deny.

Could it be that one of the greatest authors of all time, and an interesting bird too, Leo Tolstoy is accurate in writing:

“A man on a thousand mile walk has to forget his goal and say to himself every morning, ‘Today I’m going to cover twenty-five miles and then rest up and sleep.”

“If you want to be happy, be”
“This too shall pass!”
Every day my mother will say, in all circumstances, “This too shall pass,” and slowly it is all passing away with a rebirth of strength and courage.
In Greek, when a time is difficult, we say, κουράγιο; courage!
This word has power in it, and when put to use it’s empowering.
My mom KATINA, aside from losing her mother at the age of 6, leaving her native homeland Greece and coming to America, raising a family of four, helping my father in their business of 40 years and all the other stuff  life threw at her, is a remarkable champion whom I’m honored to call THE STRONGEST WOMAN I KNOW!
May you go through all your days with a strong will, courage and a mindset that is stronger than your physical limitations!
