Planning For A Successful Week
How on earth does the weekend fly by so fast? Well, there are many scenarios for that one, but let’s just address what’s ahead – not what is behind us.
I realize more and more that experiencing a successful week has to do with preparation, and that is in many areas, but primarily with meal planning. For those of us who want to function optimally-it is crucial to fuel our bodies with dense & delicious nutrition, especially if we are working at achieving a lean body. My youngest daughter Sophia and I decided we should organize a menu for the week, go shopping for everything we need every day through the weekend, and then eat only that. No guessing or rushing or confusion this week, only preparedness. Sometimes we forget that healthy eating requires mindfulness and sufficient time; tonight Sophia and I feel very accomplished in this category.
Every morning we are going to drink our Shakeology, the densest and most nutritious meal of the day, which by the way curbs cravings and energizes for the start of any day. Sophia drinks chocolate flavor and I love the Cafe latte. Our lunches will consist of a protein, veggie and healthy carb.
Monday Dinner: Veggie burger, Greek salad, and sweet potato
Tuesday Dinner: Sophia is having turkey with red peppers and Ezekial bread. I am having salmon, sauteed spinach, and quinoa.
Wednesday Dinner: Chicken kabobs, broccoli, sweet potato
Thursday Dinner: pork chops, Asian salad, and brown rice
Friday Dinner: weekend we are still in planning mode
Additional preparations for the week ahead include achieving a strong and positive mental attitude by reciting positive affirmations and relaxing my body for a great night’s sleep.
My affirmation for the week: CLARITY BREEDS PROSPERITY.
I want to be very clear about what I want to accomplish this week, and my intentions will assist me in writing the next chapter of my book, which has been in progress for two years.
Next, in just moments, I will indulge in an essential oil bath.
Lavender doTerra essential oil is sure to aid in resting my mind, body, and spirit. The health benefits of lavender essential oil include its ability to eliminate nervous tension, relieve pain, disinfect the scalp and skin, enhance blood circulation and treat respiratory problems. The Latin name of lavender is Lavare, which means “to wash”, due to its particularly pleasant aroma. I will add 5 drops of this oil with epsom salts to hot water and jump in for the healing to begin.
The hot water is good for relaxing my muscles and lowering my heart rate, this healing activity will put me right to sleep.
